Weekly bookings from Saturday to Saturday

This self catering holiday let, with its good-sized accommodation, has been fully modernised and can comfortably sleep 5 but is also perfect for 2. It offers a very high degree of comfort and appeal, being furnished to reflect the different periods of its history. In addition there is Wi-Fi access.

Paul Pry is in the Ludlow conservation area between the famous Broadgate and the medieval Ludford Bridge. The cottage is in a quiet location but is conveniently situated for the town centre, a five minute walk, and the Whitcliffe Common with its wonderful river walk with fine views of Ludlow castle and the old town walls; reached by walking over the bridge, a minute away. Paul Pry is also an ideal location for exploring Shropshire, its fine country side and the county town of Shrewsbury.

Ludlow

Paul Pry is a 3-storey building. On the ground floor is the entrance hall leading to the separate sitting room and dining room. The sitting room has a bay window, modern settees, dimmable main lighting and separate reading lights. A striking feature, to one wall, is the remains of the timbers of an earlier 17th century house, probably built after the English Civil War. There is also a fine Victorian fireplace. The, dining room has an equally striking feature on one wall, the remains of a boundary stone wall. The room has a quarry tiled floor, large dining table with 6 chairs. The lights are also dimmable. There is also a cupboard for storing coats and walking sticks.

From the dining room is a door leading to the kitchen. The kitchen contains oak units, has a dishwasher and ample working space for “the self caterer.” A door from the kitchen leads to the walled, rear garden.

Returning to the entrance hall, stairs take you to the L shaped landing on the second floor. On this floor are the large, modern family bathroom, with a shower over the bath and the large double bedroom with separate en-suite shower room. From the bay window of this bedroom are wonderful views up towards the Broadgate and down towards the bridge and the River Teme. The remains of the earlier Tudor house from the sitting room also continue on one wall.

Ludlow

A flight of stairs takes you to the third floor landing where there are two more bedrooms. The large double bedroom has fine, over the roof tops views of Whitcliffe common. The single bedroom is also of a good size with views over the garden and the Clee Hills in the distance.

The garden at the rear of the property has a grape vine, flowerbeds, shrubs and trees. There are also two paved areas where you can sit and enjoy the warmth of the summer days and evenings as you wait for the barbecue to cook. The first paved area is close to the house, has seating, and has steps leading down to the gravel pathway and to the other paved area with table and chairs and flowerbeds. As darkness falls, the garden lighting enables you to continue to make the most of living al fresco.
